In my artistic practice, I navigate connections, memory, and identity, using printmaking, collage, mixed media, and digital illustrations to create visual narratives. I am often interested in focusing on the mundane aspects of life. My work intertwines themes of grief, loneliness, and transformation with humor, inviting introspection and connection. The figures in my prints are often elongated, with expressive hands and eyes reflecting human complexities. I use contour lines over the eyelids, bridge of the nose, lips, and neck – a signature style that accentuates the emotional depth of my characters. I want these forms to communicate a sense of being suspended between worlds, embodying the tension between reality and imagination. Each piece is a journey, where the interplay of line, texture, and technique reveals layers of meaning, transforming material into vessels for memory and emotion.
I believe in art’s power to transcend the ordinary, offering a space for reflection and connection. My hope is that viewers will feel comfort and understanding by engaging with my work, much like the solace I find in creating it. The process of making is as significant as the final piece; it is a dialogue with the medium, allowing me to explore introspection while embracing the tactile nature of my craft.
